ADOPTION OF THE APPROPRIATION RESOLUTION FOR 1990-1991
JOINT MEETING OF THE PROGRAMME AND ADMINISTRATIVE COMMISSIONS
Provisional budqet ceilinq
1.
At its twenty-fourth plenary meeting on 2 November 1989, the
General Conference took the following decision:
'The General Conference,
1.
Decides that the provisional budaet ceilina for 1990-1991
shall be $380,948,000,
including on a provisional basis an
amount of $10,200,000 under Part VII and of $78,000 under
Part VIII,
respectively;
2.
Recommends that, when the final budaet ceilinq is being fixed
by the Joint Meeting of the Programme Commissions and the
Administrative Commission, decisions be taken on the following:
(i) the budgetary reinforcement foreseen in document 25 C/5;
(ii) the draft resolutions submitted by Member States'.
Adiustments within the Provisional budqet ceilinq
2. Administrative Commission.
Taking into account the General
Conference's decision on the provisional budget ceiling for 1990-1991,
which implies absorption, within that ceiling, of the additional
$1,600,000 required to keep the Medical Benefits Fund operational,
expenditure for programmes and services foreseen in 25 C/5 have to be
reduced by obligatory savings amounting to $9,116,000, as follows:

Grants and Indemnities - second instalment
(23 C/Resolution 38 and 125 EX/Decision 4.2)
Repayment to the Working Capital Fund of
unamortized construction costs - second
instalment (24 C/Resolution 36.2)
