An error in KEMET’s order entry system (ETBF) allowed EIA 0805 and 1206 case size part numbers to be
ordered using invalid packaging/reeling C-Specs. Note that orders were always satisfied using the correct
packing process and materials even though an invalid C-Spec was being utilized. ETBF will now prevent order
entry of part numbers assigned invalid C-Specs.
No changes to existing catalogs, datasheets or Component Edge are being made as they have always
reflected the correct information. Existing inventory does not need to be returned to KEMET. Inventory with
incorrect packaging/reeling C-Specs should be depleted. This is simply an ordering nomenclature error and
not a product quality issue.
