Qualification of Vishay Siliconix Automated Plating Line
at Xian, China.
DESCRIPTION OF CHANGE: As part of our continual quality improvement process, Vishay Siliconix has completed
the qualification of a fully automated plating line for High Voltage TO-247, Super TO-247 and TO-220 Fullpack
products produced in our Xian, China facility. This plating line will replace the older existing Solder Dip process. The
process will not affect the dimensions of the leads; therefore, no change in the Package Outline Drawing (POD) will
be necessary. The result will be improved consistency of production and minimized handling. It will also standardize
Xian plating technology with our other manufacturing facilities.
REASON FOR CHANGE: Quality improvement and expansion of production flow for increased manufacturing
capacity.
EXPECTED INFLUENCE ON QUALITY/RELIABILTY/PERFORMANCE: There will be no effect on the reliability or
the performance of Vishay Siliconix products. There will be no changes to the data sheets or package outline
drawing.

TIME SCHEDULE: Shipments of Products plated at the Vishay Siliconix Xian facility will begin in November 2012.
SAMPLE AVAILABILITY: The 7 parts listed in the following table have been selected as a representative group for
sampling. Samples of these are planned to be available for sampling in WW37.

PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION: Production material will be identified by lots with date codes after Y46K. Lots with tin-
plating can also be identified with leads having dull silver finish instead of bright silver finish.
QUALIFICATION DATA: Qualification data will be provided on request.
