Re: Maxim’s Non-Use of Red Phosphorous
Over a decade ago, many manufacturers incorporated into their semiconductor products epoxy mold
compounds containing inorganic Red Phosphorous that resulted in reports of field failures of such
products.
The epoxy mold compounds used in Maxim Integrated products do not contain inorganic particulate red
phosphorous (CAS# 7723-14-0) as an intentional flame retardant additive.
