2.1.1 ON-CHIP VOLTAGE REGULATOR
CONNECTIONS
For PIC24FVXXKA3XX devices, an on-chip regulator
provides power to the core from the other V
DD pins. A
low-ESR capacitor (such as high-quality, ceramic or
tantalum) must be connected to the VDDCORE pin
(Figure 2-2). This helps to maintain the stability of the
regulator. The specifications for core voltage and capac-
itance are listed in Section 7.0 “AC/DC Characteristics
and Timing Requirements”.
PIC24FXXKA1XX and PIC24FXXKA3XX devices do not
use an on-chip regulator.
